Today we have the first set (of three) of posts in the 2013 Adoption Blogger Interview Project! Participants signed up to be paired with another blogger at random, get to know them through their blogs, and then interview them at their own site. These are their interviews.
Below, in no particular order, are the brave souls who volunteered to take on the earliest publication date in this year’s project. There are first parents from closed adoptions and open adoptions, an adoptee who became an adoptive parent and an adoptee from overseas, adoptive parents via both international and domestic adoption, and someone just starting the adoption process.

Groups #2 and #3 will publish their interviews on November 19 and 26, respectively. In the meantime, I hope you’ll enjoy meeting these first sixteen bloggers. I encourage you leave comments on the interviews you read, even if they’re brief; you, the readers, are as much a part of this project as the bloggers.
It’s back! For the fourth year, the Interview Project is pairing up adoption bloggers for personal, individualized interviews. What started with a group of just open adoption bloggers has drawn in hundreds of bloggers from a variety of adoption experiences, all sharing their stories and blogs. You can browse the 2010 interview pairs, 2011 interview pairs, and 2012 interview pairs to get an idea of the (amazing) end results.
The Interview Project is for any adoption blogger–not just open adoption bloggers, not just domestic adoption bloggers, definitely not just adoptive parents. If you are a blogger who (1) writes at least occasionally about adoption, (2) is interested in meeting a fellow writer with (possibly very) different views and experiences, and (3) wants to extend a welcome into your own online space, this interview project is for you. Please help spread the word, especially among bloggers who aren’t in open adoption circles.
Loads of details and button codes are here on this page. Registration closes on Sunday, October 20. You’ll be paired with another blogger, read one another’s blogs, and do an online interview of each other at your respective blogs. One big change this year: instead of everyone posting on one day, the interviews will be spread over three weeks. The switch was motivated by feedback that people would like more time to sift through all the reading (and others might need a little more time to prepare). Depending on your group, you will post on November 12, November 19, or November 26.
Pairing is random, but once again you’ll be able to make special requests when you register and I’ll do my best to accommodate them. I hope that the option to limit the randomness helps make this a less risky undertaking for anyone who might be wary of participating.
Questions? Please feel free to email me. Now what are you waiting for? The registration form is right here:[googleapps domain="docs" dir="spreadsheet/embeddedform" query="formkey=dDIzYk9RRkRrZHpXNlBKN2xNcm1kcWc6MA" width="525" height="925" /]
